The undergraduate real estate program provides the student with an analytical foundation and a firm understanding of the areas of real estate finance, investment, and valuation. The major in real estate is directed toward students planning for a career in real estate brokerage, leasing, mortgage lending, investments, management, appraising, or development.

Real Estate Major Requirements

Required courses — 21 hours (Major Required)

• Real Estate Principles ( REAL 4000)
• Real Estate Asset Management ( REAL 5090)
• Real Estate Valuation ( Real 5080)
• Real Estate Finance ( REAL 5100)

Major Electives

Choose one of the following (Major Electives)

• Real Estate Development ( Real 5070)
• Real Estate Law ( REAL 5200)
• Special Topics in Real Estate ( REAL 5000)

Choose six hours from the following:
Any REAL course not counted elsewhere, including REAL 4800 (Real Estate Internship). Any 4000 or 5000-level course in ACCT, ECON, FINA, LEGL, MARK, MGMT, MSIT or RMIN (excluding the internship course).
