Undergraduate Study Abroad and Exchange Programs
The goal of international programs at the Terry College of Business is to foster a global perspective in every academic discipline in the college and in every academic program. Toward this end, Terry offers study abroad and exchange opportunities, employing the expertise of faculty, staff and travel professionals both here and abroad, to give students the preparation to succeed in international business. Students are exposed not only to academic class work, but also to business visits to a variety of on-going enterprises and to unique cultural experiences.
Additionally, each fall the UGA Office of International Education hosts a Work, Study and Travel Abroad Fair where students can gather information and speak with representatives from various organizations and institutions of higher education that offer programs abroad.
Undergraduate Study Abroad Programs
Although not a requirement for business majors, participation in international programs is highly recommended, as they enhance one’s employability and overall college experience. Each international business program allows students to earn credits toward their degree, in the unique “classrooms” of foreign- and local-owned businesses abroad. Participants also strengthen their foreign language skills, cultural awareness, and ability to adjust to different environments. Often, these programs result in lifelong friendships as well as contacts for potential internship and employment opportunities.
All participants in these international programs are thoroughly oriented to their specific destination before departure, and most programs are led by a Terry faculty member and/or program manager. Other Opportunities for International Education at UGA
If you do not see the particular destination you desire in the roster of study abroad programs led by Terry College faculty or exchange programs with our peer institutions abroad, there are plenty of other options to consider. The University of Georgia offers over 90 study abroad and exchange programs to its students. UGA is also a member of various consortia and is affiliated with organizations that offer additional programs. The UGA Office of International Education (OIE) employs study abroad counselors to assist students with finding a program that will fit his/her needs.

The international business co-major advisor can help students identify whether program courses will satisfy degree requirements. When selecting courses taught by non-Terry or non-UGA faculty, a student must complete and submit a credit approval form.
Note: Students participating in a University-approved international program — such as the National Student Exchange (NSE), UGA international exchange program, or an approved study abroad program — are exempt from the UGA requirement that 45 of the last 60 credit hours be completed in residence; rather, 45 of the total 121 credit hours should be completed in residence.
