Protect Athens Music to offer free business advice and legal aid to local musicians

A free conference on current music industry business and legal issues is set for Thursday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Melting Point in downtown Athens. In addition, a free legal clinic for local musicians will be held Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nuçi's Space, near downtown.

MIS professor receives LEO Award for “exceptional lifetime achievement”

Richard Watson received the LEO Award for “exceptional lifetime achievement in information systems” at the 2011 International Conference on Information Systems held in Shanghai, China. The award is the highest honor given by the Association for Information Systems.

$1 million Deloitte Foundation endowment will support students and faculty in accounting

With pledged gifts totaling $1 million, the Deloitte Foundation will establish an endowment for the J.M. Tull School of Accounting. The Deloitte Foundation Endowed Accounting Support Fund will provide new annual funding to attract and retain outstanding faculty and furnish scholarships.
