Germanic and Slavic Studies

The Germanic and Slavic Studies department offers programs designed to provide students with a good communicative knowledge of both the German and the Russian language and a basic insight into the culture of Germany and Russia. Study Abroad programs are offered not only in Germany and Russia, but also Croatia.

Willson Center for Humanities and Arts

Founded in 1987 as the Humanities Center and named in 2005 for its benefactors, the Jane and Harry Willson Center for Humanities and Arts promotes scholarly inquiry and creative activity in the humanities and the arts by supporting faculty research grants, lectures, symposia, publications, visiting scholars, visiting artists, collaborative instruction, and public conferences, exhibitions, and performances.

Plant Biology

From molecules to ecosystems, the Plant Biology department embraces the entire spectrum of plant biology. The Plant Biology faculty and students publish in top journals, are well-funded by extramural grants, present their research in seminars and conferences all over the world, and serve on a variety of grant review panels and editorial boards.
