Peter N. Mastopoulos

Interim Director Named for Armstrong’s Liberty Center

(July 20, 2010) Peter N. Mastopoulos has been named interim director of the Liberty Center, the Armstrong Atlantic State University regional center in Hinesville. He will oversee all aspects of the center, including student and faculty support, admissions, recruiting, administrative services and facility management.

Mastopoulos joins the Liberty Center and the Hinesville community after serving as assistant director of the Armstrong Center and adjunct professor at Armstrong since 2005. As assistant director, he was responsible for business and facility operations, budgets and customer service.

An Armstrong alumnus and a graduate of Leadership Savannah, Mastopoulos has experience in different facets of academic administration and instruction. He has taught courses in leadership, research methods and community development.

His community involvement includes serving as a mentor for the Gulfstream Student Leadership Program, trainer for the American Red Cross and member of the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America’s Coastal Empire Council. He is the recipient of Armstrong’s Student Government Association Student Service Award and the Armstrong Volunteer Service to the Community Award.

Mastopoulos received his doctoral degree in education administration from Georgia Southern University. He holds a master’s degree in management from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
