Terry College to hire Full-Time MBA Program Director

The Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia seeks qualified applicants for its Director of the Full-time MBA Program. The Terry College has consistently been ranked as a top 50 MBA program by all major business publications. The position is open immediately and the goal is to have a new director on board quickly. Desired qualifications include an MBA degree and a minimum of two years of experience in a position dealing with the overall administration of MBA programs. Candidates with a doctoral degree may also be considered for appointment at an academic rank.

The size of the Terry MBA creates an opportunity for an innovative Director to move the program forward in a short period. The director of the Full-Time MBA Program is responsible for all aspects of the two-year Full-Time MBA Program. The director reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and works with the MBA Committee to assure a high quality program and student learning environment. Some specific responsibilities of the director are to:

  • Assist the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and MBA Committee in periodically reviewing the program's strategic goals, objectives, and curriculum
  • Hire and manage program staff
  • Provide oversight of and support to the Admissions staff for the recruiting of each new class
  • Provide oversight of and support to the MBA Career Management Center
  • Provide oversight of and support to MBA student services, activities, and programs
  • Develop an annual program budget, including proposals for differential tuition, and provide fiduciary oversight of program spending
  • Work with department heads and directors of other degree programs to assure effective staffing of MBA courses
  • Oversee MBA class scheduling and MBA events such as orientations and graduation
  • Design and coordinate leadership activities and speakers in the program
  • Promote the MBA Program externally by establishing and nurturing relationships with corporations, alumni, and the media
  • Represent the Full-time program at university functions, as well as at meetings of MBA professional organizations
  • Perform other related duties as periodically assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Programs
