Earn Your MBA without Increasing Your Debt
As you begin researching MBA programs, do you find yourself asking “How can I possibly afford to go back to school full-time?”
Terry’s Full-Time MBA Program could be the answer. Over 80% of our incoming class will receive a scholarship or assistantship to reduce the cost of their MBA education, thanks to the generous support of our alumni and corporate benefactors.
There are three categories of Terry financial awards:
Graduate Assistantships
Terry graduate assistantship awards not only reduce the cost of your education, but also provide income to cover living expenses! The benefits include:
- Tuition reduced to $25 per semester
- 40% of student health insurance premium paid by UGA
- A monthly paycheck for working 13 hours per week in the Terry College of Business.
In the 2011–12 academic year, the annual assistantship stipend will be $8,000. MBA students with a graduate assistantship award will receive $800 per month for ten months during the two years they are at Terry.
Assistantship awards are granted to approximately the top one-third of candidates admitted into the Full-Time MBA Program.
| Item | Cost |

A student on assistantship will receive approximately $3,000 more than the annual cost of his or her MBA education.
Tuition Waivers
Applicants who are not Georgia residents will automatically be considered for another merit-based award: a Regents’ waiver of the out-of-state tuition charged non-residents. For the upcoming academic year, this waiver will reduce tuition by more than $17,000 per year.
Scholarships
MBA scholarships and fellowships may be combined with any other financial award and range in value from $1,000 to $12,500 per year. These are typically awarded at the time of admission.
University of Georgia Need-Based Financial Assistance
Students requiring need-based financial assistance should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid. Applications for financial aid for the upcoming academic year are available in January.
For me, the networking aspects were a great benefit to being a part of the Terry College.”
