Over 50% of Terry MBA students receive financial awards that substantially eliminate or reduce the cost of their MBA education Terry financial awards are merit-based and are awarded on the strength of a candidates overall application package, including GMAT score, GPA and work experience. At a time when more than half of all MBA graduates are re-entering the work force with their personal savings depleted and more than $45,000 in new loans, Terry MBA students are leaping forward in their careers without a crushing burden of new debt.
There are three categories of Terry financial awards:
All candidates admitted to the Terry MBA Program are automatically considered for a graduate assistantship. These awards enable candidates to get their MBA at minimal to no cost by covering all the educational costs, as well as contributing toward living expenses.
Assistantship benefits include:
| Expenses for a student on assistantship based on 2008-09 academic year | |
|---|---|
| Reduced UGA Tuition and Fees | $50 |
| UGA Fees | $1,460 |
| Health Insurance Premium | $321 |
| New Laptop Computer | $1,500 |
| Books | $1,500 |
| TOTAL | $4,831 |
A student on assistantship will receive over $5,000 more than the annual cost of their MBA education (two semesters).
International students and domestic students from outside of Georgia who do not qualify for an assistantship are automatically considered for a Regents Waiver of Georgias out-of-state fee. For the academic year 2009-2010, this award is worth $18,110. The Regents Waiver is frequently combined with additional scholarships to top incoming students to further reduce the cost of their MBA education.
Scholarship awards to MBA students are given either as enhancements to other awards or as stand-alone awards and are typically awarded with the admissions decision.
Students requiring need-based financial assistance should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid. Applications for financial aid for the upcoming academic year are available in January.
