Connecting with Students

The Terry MBA Program is an excellent source of talent for any organization, and the Career Management Center offers several ways to connect with our students, whether in Athens, in Atlanta, or virtually.

Working with Student Clubs

Student clubs regularly host events and programs with members of the business community, and getting involved in these activities offers a great way to connect with Terry talent. Some companies send speakers or panelists to club events. Others sponsor either a club lunch or a tailgate for students before home football games. The Career Management Center can place you in contact with the right club and discuss ways you can participate in it. MBA student club leaders for 2011–2012 are:

Company Information Sessions

Many companies hold information sessions at Terry both to meet students and to provide information about MBA roles within their organizations in advance of interviews. MBA students value these presentations as an opportunity to learn about different industries, functions, companies, and organizational cultures.

Networking Events

The CMC hosts networking events throughout the year to connect Terry MBAs with recruiters, hiring managers, and other company representatives. Companies use this opportunity to build their talent pipeline with Terry MBAs, and students gain valuable insight into MBA careers from speaking with representatives in their respective areas of interest.

Executive/Company Tours

We welcome companies to host on-site tours and presentations for Terry MBAs. These events provide excellent networking opportunities while exposing students to various industries and functions. Please contact our office to schedule a tour of your company.

Classroom Participation

Terry faculty welcome offers to speak in the classroom. To facilitate connections between recruiting organizations and professors, we ask that those offering to participate in academic classes send us information about the proposed speaker and topic as well as the course in which the presentation would best fit. A format for this proposal is available on our website, or the offer can be emailed. Proposing presentations 1–2 months in advance of the start of the academic term enables the professor to consider your suggestion before finalizing the course syllabus.
