In the fall 2011, Bart Sasnett entered into his 5th season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach. The cavilers would pick up where they left off in 2010 and break program records for wins in a season (19), consecutive wins (16) and return to the National Tournament ranked #1 in the country. They become the first men's team to win back to back Region and District Titles. The Cav's ended with a 19-2-1 record and tied for 3rd Nationally.
2010 was a history making year for the cavilers. The men's program played in it's first NJCAA National Tournament! The Cav's finished with a 18-7 record, Region 17 Tournament and Southeast District Champions. The cavilers would reach as high as 5th in the country and place 6th at the National Tournament. Sasnett's high powered offense amassed 90 goals and 2 All-American's.
In 2009 Sasnett ended with a 12-4-1 record. Sasnett's Cav's spent 3 weeks nationally ranked reaching 14th in the last week of regular season play. Coach Bart has led his teams to three straight play-off appearances. For his efforts he was nominated Region 17 Coach of the year in 2009 and 2008.
Sasnett has compiled a 68-27-2 record while at Darton College. This adds to his 99-52-7 men's record and over all record of 131-79-9 in 8 seasons. Coach Sasnett has forwarded numerous players on to four year programs. He has Coached 6 All-Americans, 40 All-Region players and 6 Academic All-Americans.
Coach Sasnett comes to Darton after a successful campaign at National Junior College Association rival Andrew College. He was the assistant coach for both the men and women in 2002 and 2003. He took over as head coach in 2004 where he guided the men to the Region XVII championship game. For his success, he was named Region Coach of the Year and a finalist for National Coach of the Year. At Andrew he had a record of 31-25-5 with the men’s program.
A native of Fort Walton Beach Florida, Coach Sasnett played his prep ball at Choctaw High School where he earned a spot on the Florida State All-Star Team. He continued his education and playing career at Andrew College. There he earned All-Region honors. He then finished his collegiate career at Tennessee Wesleyan where he graduated with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science. Before going to Andrew as an assistant, he played one year professionally with the Knoxville Storm of the Southeastern Indoor Soccer League. He holds a NSCAA National, Advanced National and Premier coaching certificate.
Coach Sasnett is the son of Gail Sasnett and has two brothers and three sisters. He enjoys fishing, visiting family and watching movies.
