Construction advisory: Renovation of former Visual Arts Building (Ongoing)

When: July 18, 2011 - June 30, 2012.
Details: Renovation of the former Visual Arts Building on Jackson Street is underway. A construction fence surrounding the site will block the sidewalk connecting Jackson and Thomas Streets between the Visual Arts Building and the Old Athens Cemetery. Pedestrians should detour either through the North Campus Parking Deck or south of the cemetery next to Baldwin Hall.
Construction advisory: Jackson Street closed in front of Baldwin Hall (Ongoing)
Where:
When: May 14, 2012 - August 3, 2012.
Details: In connection with a project to replace the steam and condensate system serving Baldwin Hall, the section of Jackson Street immediately in front of Baldwin Hall will be closed to all traffic May 14 through 7 a.m. June 4. The southbound lane will be reopened effective 7 a.m. June 4, but the northbound lane will remain closed to traffic through August 3. Motorists should seek an alternate route.
Construction advisory: Smith Street and Sanford Drive (Ongoing)
Where:
When: May 30, 2012 - August 15, 2012.
Details: Smith Street, from South Lumpkin Street to Rutherford Street, and an adjacent section of Sanford Drive, will undergo renovation including installation of drainage, sidewalks, new paving and lighting. Sections of these roadways, including the Smith/Sanford intersection, will be closed at times. Access to all facilities and parking areas will be maintained, but alternate routes are advised.
Construction Advisory: Memorial Hall (Ongoing)
Where:
When: March 28, 2012 - August 31, 2012.
Details: Renovation work at Memorial Hall will cause pedestrian detours in the area. A chain link fence will enclose the front of the building (on Reed Quad), blocking the sidewalk across the front of Memorial Hall. An additional sidewalk leading from Reed Hall and Memorial Hall to Reed Plaza will be closed May 14 through June 1 for installation of a fire main.
Construction advisory: Rutherford Hall (Ongoing)
Where:
When: May 21, 2012 - July 31, 2013.
Details: Demolition of Rutherford Hall will be followed by construction of a new, 260-bed Rutherford Hall at the site on Myers Quadrangle. The construction site will be fenced, with pedestrian detours around the site.
