Applied anthropologist Dr. Eileen Dryden, Ph.D. 2003, is a Research Associate at the Institute for Community Health in Cambridge, MA. She works closely with a variety of stakeholders in community-based organizations as well as federal, state, and city agencies to determine their evaluation needs and to increase participation throughout the evaluation planning and implementation process. Her current research interests include examining the intersection of evaluation and anthropology and developing appropriate evaluation methodology to work with people with diverse cultural, linguistic, economic and educational backgrounds. Dr. Barnet Pavao-Zuckerman, Ph.D. 2001, studies the effects of New World colonization on the economies and foodways upon Native Americans. At UGA she studied with Dr. Elizabeth Reitz. She now serves as both Associate Director of the School of Anthropology at U. Arizona, as well as Associate Curator of Zooarchaeology at the Arizona State Museum. Vanessa Hanvey, A.B. 2011, took her experience working in the Georgia Site Files—the repository for all archaeological site data in the state—and the department's archaeology lab to her position with the Arkansas Archaeological Survey. The survey staff's rigorous research agenda includes long term and emergency projects in both historic and prehistoric archeology; it is also a cultural resource for the state's citizens and educators.
