Proposal

  • The College identified the need for this new facility in 1998, and has completed program planning, conceptual design, and is now completing final design for this state-of-the-art building that will serve the future of veterinary medical training in Georgia.
  • Plan to increase enrollment from 102 (current) to 150 per class, starting the year UGA breaks ground for the new teaching hospital. This 50% enrollment increase will provide more veterinarians to protect animal and public health in Georgia.
  • Clinical faculty along with third- and fourth-year students will move to the new hospital. The vacated space in our current buildings will be renovated to accommodate the 50% increase in enrollment in the first two years, and for badly needed research space.
  • The revenue generated from tuition and fees for the additional students will be used to pay the additional faculty and staff required to support the enrollment increase.
