FACS Research and Grants Office
creating grants
The Research and Grants Office plays a key role in the design, development, and implementation of a wide range of support programs for faculty grant development activities in the College of Family & Consumer Sciences. The office consults with faculty to find funding opportunities, develop grant proposals, review proposals to ensure fit with funding source policies and goals, and coordinate activities with the Office of Sponsored programs.
Primary Responsibilities of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences Grants Office
- Consulting with faculty and graduate students to develop grant proposals;
- Editing proposals;
- Monitoring for correctness and compliance with agency guidelines;
- Rewriting portions of applications as needed and;
- Reviewing and evaluating proposals prior to submission.
Secondary Responsibilities of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences Grants Office
- Responding to faculty questions surrounding compliance issues;
- Ensuring compliance with grant policies and regulations according to Federal, University, and various Sponsor guidelines and;
- Grant compliance with the OMB Circular A-21.
Additional Services
- Locating funding opportunities for faculty from federal, state, and private sponsors;
- Assisting with the electronic grants submission process including grants.gov and;
- Coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Contracts and Grants.
As a newly created resource for FCS faculty, the Grants Office will evolve and adapt. The responsibilities and services listed above provide an outline for support, but the overall mission of the Grants Office is to help our faculty. If your need is beyond the scope of work, the grants coordinator will work diligently to connect you with appropriate resources within the College or University.
