Archway Partnership and the College have a strong relationship that allows our students to gain experience with hands-on projects for communities throughout the state. Grad student, Chris McDowell, was honored as an Oustanding Graduate Student with a Sustainable UGA Award for his work with reclaimed materials. He founded the UGA Material Reuse Program through which he created a passively heated greenhouse for UGArden, raised garden beds and compost bins for local schools, and MORE.
CED Assistant Professor Eric MacDonald and BLA student Zach Richardson are featured in this Associated Press TV video about the Tanyard Creek Chew Crew project. Zach’s goal is to herd goats on a strategic area of campus along Tanyard Creek as a sustainable alternative to conventional exotic invasive species management.
CED’s student produced publication, Georgia Landscape Magazine, is now available online in an interactive format! The 2012 edition is being submitted for an ASLA Award. CLICK HERE to read the 2012 issue and share with friends via e-mail, Facebook, and more!
