Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs
Kathy Kathy joined Kennesaw State University in August 1989, to serve as the Coordinator of Student Organizations and Programs in the Student Life Center. In that role, Kathy advised the Kennesaw Activities Board (then known as the KSU Student Union Board), and worked with clubs and organizations to help facilitate their programs and activities. She also worked with students to create and develop new student organizations. In 1995, Kathy was named Director of Student Life, and was responsible for overseeing Intramural Sports, Student Media, Fraternity & Sorority Life, and clubs and organizations. During that time, Kathy directly advised the KSU Student Government Association, and served as the Fraternity & Sorority Advisor, overseeing recruitment and additional programs of KSU's National Greek chapters.
Kathy has been actively involved in the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and the Georgia College Personnel Association (GCPA), serving as President, Secretary, and Sector Representative. Kathy has also been part of the Regents' Administrative Committee for Student Life (RACSL), serving as Secretary. At KSU, Kathy has served on a number of councils and committees, among those the Student Activities and Budget Advisory Committee (SABAC), the Campus Events Planning Committee (CEPC), and the Kennesaw State University Magazine editorial board. She is currently serving on the newly-formed Administrators' Council.
Kathy received her Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Master's degree in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Georgia. While at KSU, Kathy completed coursework in the University of Georgia doctoral program in College Student Affairs Administration. Prior to KSU, Kathy worked at University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, Texas Tech University and Presbyterian College.
