Lunch and a Book or Movie
The Siegel Institute created the Lunch and a Book or Movie Series to bring faculty, staff, and students together from different disciplines on campus to discuss ethics and leadership in a collaborative fashion, informally, over lunch. The Institute provides the participant with a complimentary copy of the book in advance, and provides a lunch for the entire group on the meeting date.
This series began with three events in 2008 and, based on positive feedback from faculty and students, the Institute doubled the number of events to six in 2009-2010 and six in 2010-2011. Additional events increased the discussions to seven in 2011-2012 and eight in 2012-2013. The series continued in 2013-2014 with six discussions centering around the topic of self-image. The series was then followed in 2014-2015 with a new format. The Institute partnered with various entities on campus to host book and movie discussions to more targeted audiences.
