Student Disability Accommodation University Appeals Procedure
Eligible students should deliver certification letters to faculty at the beginning of each semester identifying the accommodations approved. A student should notify Student Disability Services in writing within 2 days of any disagreement between the student and the faculty member if agreed upon academic adjustments are not provided in order to seek a resolution. Students will need to contact the Disability Service Provider (DSP) on the campus in which the course is held. The DSP will work with faculty members to ensure that they understand their obligations to provide students with appropriate accomodations in a timely manner.
Students who disagree with an eligibility or accommodation decisions made by the Student Disability Services Office (SDS) may appeal the decision. The appeal must be submitted to the Director of Student Disability Services of your home campus in writing within twenty (20) business days of the date of the decision. Further appeals will proceed up the line of report in accordance with the University’s established practices.
Kennesaw State University is committed to treating students fairly in the grading process. Students may appeal a final grade that they receive in a course, but interim grades or grades on specific assignments are not appealable. Any such appeal must be based on an allegation that the faculty member has violated his/her stated grading policy or that the grade was a result of discrimination or retaliation.
