What is the RRPG Program?
The Recruitment, Retention, and Progression to Graduation (RRPG) Program for Hispanic & Latino Students is a four year program offered at KSU with the goal of graduating program participants at rates equal to or higher than their non-Hispanic/Latino peers.
Initially a Pilot Program, the RRPG Program has grown every year and is now on its 7th cohort of students. Currently, the RRPG Program serves over 200 KSU Students.
Must Program Participants be KSU Students in order to participate in the RRPG Program?
Yes, RRPG Program participants must be officially accepted KSU Students. Any person interested in applying for admission to Kennesaw State University may contact Undergraduate Admissions to learn more about admissions requirements. The RRPG Program’s Enrollment Services Specialist may also answer questions related to admissions, financial aid, and would be happy to provide a personalized campus tour.
What are the benefits for a student in the RRPG Program?
Over the participant’s four years of enrollment at KSU, (s)he will be exposed to a variety of academic, peer and non-peer support, and financial resources to assist with progression to graduation. These experiences include assistance with locating and applying for financial aid and scholarship opportunities for qualifying students, workshops to enhance their academic and pre-professional skills, college planning, and individualized attention by their own Graduation Coach to assist with their transition into and through their college experience. In addition to these benefits, participants are invited to an anuual Retreat, which provides the opportunity to build relationships with peers.

- Offering a one-stop-shop of academic support services uniquely tailored to the needs of our program participants;
- Increasing the quality of your academic and co-curricular experience through individual academic coaching and exclusive enrichment activities;
- Access to your own Transitional Ambassador; and
- Fostering a welcoming climate for Hispanic/Latino students through campus and program events, and access to your own student lounge, Sala de Logros para Estudiantes.
What are the requirements to apply for the program?
Admission into this program is competitive and limited. Program admission requirements include:
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Kennesaw State University;
- Have and maintain an adjusted cumulative GPA of 2.75 in either high school or college level coursework to-date;
- Self-identify as being Hispanic or Latino; and
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Does the RRPG Program participate in rolling admissions?Yes, the RRPG Program accepts students into the program at any time of the year; however, we strongly recommend that students apply as early as possible in order to participate in important events and workshops.
Must students be fluent in the Spanish language to participate?No; although many of our program participants are fluent in both the English & Spanish languages, it is not a requirement.
Does it cost anything to apply for and participate in the program?The RRPG program application and all events and activities offered by the program are free of charge to program members.
Is there financial aid or scholarships available to students in the program?Students admitted into the RRPG Program will receive individualized attention by our bi-lingual Enrollment Services Specialist who assists program participants and their families in completing the FAFSA each year, as well as searching for additional financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

I am interested in volunteering in the community. As a Program Participant, can I be involved in community outreach, recruiting, and volunteering efforts?Yes, we strongly encourage our students to be actively involved in our outreach efforts. Students may join our Enrollment Services Specialist during their travels to high schools, nonprofits, community centers, and churches as well as annual conferences aimed at promoting education to Latino youth. Simply reach out to our ESS and request to accompany them on to these events.
Will I receive any type of credit for attending outreach and recruiting events?
Yes, RRPG Program participants are eligible to receive Volunteer Kennesaw (VKU) credit. VKSU credit is beneficial for students looking to add more activities to their resume, find jobs or internships, and scholarship/graduate school applications. Students must sign-up for a VKSU account.
Once a student attends an event, they will report the number or hours attended to our ESS who will then reach out to VKSU to ensure that credit is applied to your account.
