The University of Georgia Legion Pool will open May 24 for the summer season. The hours of operation are 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. daily through Aug. 3 and 2-7 p.m. Aug. 4-10.

UGA listed among healthiest colleges in US
The University of Georgia ranked fifth in a recent survey of the healthiest colleges in the U.S. The university was one of 25 selected by Greatist, an online health and fitness information source, as a school that creates "the best environment for leading a fit, healthy and happy life," the site reads.

University of Georgia alumni, faculty, staff and students, as well as members of the Athens community will gather on the university campus for the 5th Annual Dawg Trot 5K Run/Walk on March 17. With almost 800 participants, the race, which is sponsored by the UGA Alumni Association, has grown to be one of Northeast Georgia's largest 5Ks.

EcoFocus Film Festival unveils 2012 film lineup
The 2012 EcoFocus Film Festival will open with a screening of Buck, a documentary about the animal-human bond. The camera follows cowboy Buck Brannaman as he teaches people to communicate with horses using compassion instead of punishment. Winner of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival Audience Favorite award, Buck is one of 18 feature-length and 22 short films to be shown at EcoFocus, which this year runs from March 23-31 at Ciné and various locations across the University of Georgia campus.
