The University of Georgia College of Education will host a one-day conference focusing on strategies to prevent and handle bullying situations in schools and communities on June 1 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center at the Georgia Center. Minimum wage increases don’t reduce hardship
Americans are poor. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the country's poverty rate is at its highest point in 20 years; 15 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. A recent University of Georgia study looked at how minimum wage increases can decrease poverty in America. It turns out that they don't, according to the report.

State Botanical Garden at UGA co-sponsors the ‘Art of Conservation’ poster contest
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia, along with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Nongame Conservation Section and the Environmental Resources Network, are co-sponsoring the 22nd annual state Give Wildlife a Chance Poster Contest. Teachers and kindergarten through fifth grade students are encouraged to participate in the program that celebrates Georgia's wildlife through plant and animal discoveries.
