UGA listed among healthiest colleges in US
The University of Georgia ranked fifth in a recent survey of the healthiest colleges in the U.S. The university was one of 25 selected by Greatist, an online health and fitness information source, as a school that creates "the best environment for leading a fit, healthy and happy life," the site reads.

UGA Food Services chef to compete in culinary challenge
University of Georgia Food Services Chef Bryan Haymans has been selected to compete in the Culinary Challenge at the National Association of College and University Food Services Southern Region Conference on March 22 at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

UGA residence hall Building 1516 receives honors
Building 1516, the newest residence hall at the University of Georgia and the first to be LEED certified, received two honors recently: the on campus award by Student Housing Business for best use of green and sustainable construction and a gold LEED certification.

UGA Health Sciences Campus update for January 2012
The following information is provided as part of an effort to keep the community informed about the development of the Health Sciences Campus, a significant addition to the University of Georgia. The Health Sciences Campus has been established on the site of the former Navy Supply Corps School on Prince Avenue in Athens. The property was deeded to the university by the U.S. Department of Education in April 2011.

The University of Georgia dedicated its new University Childcare Center on Jan. 25. The facility is one of the first buildings on the UGA Health Sciences Campus to become operational.

The University of Georgia special collections libraries began 2012 in a new state-of-the-art facility and will celebrate the opening of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries with a dedication on Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. on the building's front lawn.

Renovations to the University of Georgia Stegeman Coliseum netted the University Architects office statewide honors from the American Institute of Architects. On Oct. 15, the office received the AIA Georgia 2011 Honor Design Award—the top award for the state.
