The numbers at the University of Georgia are up this fall as 8,578 new students are finding their way around UGA's campuses. Combined undergraduate, graduate and professional numbers equaled 34,816—139 more students than in fall 2010—as enrollment climbed 0.4 percent.

The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine welcomed the class of 2015 during its annual White Coat Ceremony held last month. Sponsored by the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, this event officially recognized 102 members of the incoming class by donning them in lab coats to be worn during their veterinary education

Four candidates for the position of registrar at the University of Georgia will visit campus between Aug. 22 and Aug. 29.

One of the most "academically talented" and "diverse" classes in the history of the University of Georgia School of Law began the three-year pursuit of a law degree this week. The Class of 2014, comprised of 225 students, has a median Law School Admission Test score of 165, which is a school record.

More than 90 percent of new, incoming University of Georgia students have enrolled in a First-Year Odyssey seminar, a fall-semester program that will offer students an understanding and appreciation for the teaching, research and service mission of the university.

The University of Georgia is expecting a record number of new students on campus when fall semester classes begin Aug. 15. According to data from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, more than 5,500 freshmen-an increase of more than 10 percent over last year-will be enrolled. The number of new transfer students remains stable at around 1,400.

Total enrollment for summer semester at the University of Georgia is 14,812 students. Overall enrollment decreased by 5.8 percent from last year. Enrollment at the extended campuses is up by 13.1 percent with a total of 723 students.

The University of Georgia's 2010 total fall student body enrollment is 34,677, down one-half of one percent from last year. There are 7,752 new students attending the university, with 4,333 first time freshmen. Freshmen enrollment is down less than one percent.

The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy Class of 2014 has a record number of 144 students enrolled in the four-year doctor of pharmacy curriculum. It is the largest class in the College's 107-year history.

Continuing a trend of sustained growth, the University of Georgia College of Public Health has set another record for enrollment: nearly 800 students are currently enrolled in the college's undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs.
