The Fate of the Health Care Industry after the Affordable Care Act: Where Does It Go from Here and Why?11:45 am - 1 pm -
Location: Room 170, Urban Life Building
Partner, Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP
The Supreme Court recently reaffirmed the vitality of the Affordable Care Act, which proposed sweeping changes in how America receives and pays for its healthcare. However, the changes imposed by the ACA create new pressures on the healthcare industry, many of which may be detrimental to already financially distressed healthcare providers. The slow recovery in the economy and the continued financial difficulties faced by governments required to pay for ever-increasing costs for the Medicare and Medicaid programs create a backdrop of financial pressures that are significantly changing the industry.
This program, by one of the nation's foremost experts in restructuring financially distressed companies in the healthcare industry, will focus on the various ways the healthcare industry is being transformed by ACA and other economic and societal forces in American today and the impact on the many financially distressed entities in the healthcare industry. The program will also provide some prognosis for where the industry is going in the future.
This event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided.
Co-sponsored by the Student Health Law Association.
