5 - 6 pm - Room 170

The Intellectual Property Law Society will host a panel discussion on various aspects of the America Invents Act (AIA), which will switch the US from a first-to-invent patent system to a first-to-file patent system. This change is one of the biggest changes ever to take place within the US patent system, and the last parts of the Act go into effect on March 16, 2013. Come find out how this change will affect the practice of intellectual property law from our three panelists: Dr. Mary An Merchant and Dr. Brian Shortell of Ballard Spahr and our own Dr. Yaniv Heled of Georgia State College of Law.
