Urban Fellows Lecture: Cathy Henson, Hot Topics in Education

The August Urban Fellows lecture will feature Cathy Henson, an attorney and advocate for the improvement of public education and founder and president of the Georgia School Council Institute (Georgiaeducation.org).  She has served on the State Board of Education, Georgia's Education Reform Commission, and on the Closing the Achievement Gap Commission, and on several boards including Georgia State University Foundation, Georgia Perimeter College Foundation Board, Piedmont College Board of Trustees, Wofford College President's Advisory Council, Tech High Charter School in Atlanta, and Georgia Appleseed.  Ms. Henson has been recognized by Georgia Trend magazine as one of the 100 most powerful and influential Georgians several times.  Ms. Henson will discuss recent trends and hot topics in education.
