Honors Capstone

Brooke Doss talks to visitors The culminating achievement of all Honors Scholars at KSU is the completion of an Honors Capstone. Depending on the Honors student's interests and goals, the Capstone might take the form of a research, service, or creative project. The Honors Capstone allows Honors students to explore in depth a topic or question related to specific interests in their chosen disciplines.

At least a semester before graduation, Honors students take HON 4497 in which they develop capstone proposals with the support of a faculty supervisor in their discipline, an Honors supervisor, and the designated faculty departmental liaison in their majors.

Honors students continue and complete the Capstone Project as they take HON 4499 in the senior year.

The Honors Capstone often becomes the distinguishing factor that sets KSU Honors students apart in job interviews and applications for graduate school.
