Scholarships for KSU Honors Students

Eligibility:

You must be accepted to Kennesaw State University and the University Honors Program.  Each scholarship may also have additional eligibility criteria as specified below.  Scholarship amounts may vary annually based on market performance and other factors.  More information about all KSU scholarships may be found at http://scholarships.kennesaw.edu/

Application instructions for all of the scholarships below:

  • Log in to Owl Express at www.kennesaw.edu/owlexpress.
    • New students who have just been admitted to KSU must activate their NetID and create a password.  Go to www.kennesaw.edu/myksu. From the Quick Links box, click on KSU# or NetID Lookup.  Complete the form and you will be given instructions to create a password.  Need help?  Call the Student Technology Helpline at 470-578-3555.
  • From the Owl Express main menu, click the Financial Aid link.
  • Click KSU Scholarship Application.
  • Select option A: Undergraduate Scholarship Application
    • You do not need to indicate which scholarship you are applying for. You will be matched to all that you are eligible for.
  • List the college in which you anticipate declaring your major, NOT the Honors College, on your application.
  • A letter of recommendation is not required for Honors scholarships. Do note that the KSU scholarship application portal will prompt students with certain majors for letters of recommendation. While the Honors College does not require such letters, we encourage you to follow the prompts specific to your academic profile in order to be considered for all applicable university awards.
  • Even if you are interested in multiple scholarships, you only need to complete the application one time. Answer all questions to ensure you are matched to as many scholarships as possible.
  • Need-Based Scholarships require that a student complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Need is determined by subtracting the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) from the Cost of Attendance (COA). COA - EFC = Need.
  • The application requires an essay of up to 900 words.  Take this into account to ensure you can complete the essay before the deadline.

Deadline:

The scholarship application opens November 1st – March 15th for the following academic year.  See http://scholarships.kennesaw.edu/ for more information.

Notification:

Recipients of scholarships are typically notified of their awards in early May.  All communication will be sent to the student’s KSU email account.  The student email login can be found at www.kennesaw.edu/myksu.
