Sandip Das

Assistant Professor

Department of Electrical Engineering

Dr. Sandip Das     Dr. Das joined the Electrical Engineering Dept. at Kennesaw State University in Fall 2014. He received his Ph.D. and M.E. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina (USC), Columbia, in 2014 and 2012 respectively. Dr. Das completed his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology (IIEST, Shibpur, India) in 2004. He also has four years of industrial experience in the power and energy sector (TATA Power, Delhi, India).
Dr. Das' research expertise include Semiconductor Optoelectronic Materials and Devices, Thin-film and Nanocrystalline Solar Cells, Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Harvesting Systems. His current research interests are:
  • 3rd generation high-efficiency hybrid solar cells for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV).
  • Digitally controlled electronic interfaces for optimum energy harvesting from renewable sources, energy storage, and power management.
  • Room temperature solid state wide-bandgap semiconductor-based radiation detectors and sensors for nuclear non-proliferation and biomedical imaging.
  • Emerging optoelectronic devices - plasmonic photovoltaics, multi-junction tandem solar cells, organic photodiodes and detectors.
  • Applied Electronics for Digital Measurement, Remote Sensing, and Instrumentation.
  • Microfluidic and Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Devices and Sensors.
  • Technology enhanced tools, devices, and pedagogical framework for engineering education in the core electrical engineering areas.
