Performances of Symphony No. 7 and the Cello Concerto by Antonín Dvořák. Led by Conductor Jacek Kaspszyk and featuring Cellist Maciej Młodawski.
Founded in 1954, the Wroclaw Philharmonic is one of Poland's leading symphony orchestras and draws on the rich musical traditions of Wroclaw, formerly the German city of Breslau, which has played host to such great artists as Wagner, Brahms (who conducted the premiere of his "Academic Festival Overture" there), and Mahler. The Orchestra has performed in renowned concert halls throughout the world, including Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, as well as a concert in New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral in memory of Pope John Paul II.
