The Office of Student Advocacy provides opportunities for students to play a role in learning how to effectively advocate for themselves and others. We welcome student involvement in any of the following opportunities:
Federal Work Study Student Positions – Three student assistants are assigned to execute the following functions of student advocacy:
- Programming and Event Planning
- Collaboration and Outreach
- Web and Media Communication

The CivOwlity Advisory Council is comprised of KSU students devoted to promoting greater civility awareness and understanding on campus and in the local community. Student Advocacy will offer training and education to cultivate a greater sense of understanding and respect for the elements that make us unique as individuals and groups, as well as the many qualities we have in common.
The CivOwlity Troupe (COMING SOON) uses performance art as a tool to explore the issues that deeply affect college students. Acting, spoken word, dance, song, and painting are just some mediums that will be performed by KSU students to increase awareness of social justice issues such as identity, stereotypes, cultural differences, and privilege.
General Volunteer Opportunities are available for students interested in completing service hours with our office. Please be sure to complete an application and to contact the office of Volunteerism and Service Learning Support to view our volunteer and support opportunities.
